Straight Lines

Straight Lines are all what our teachers have preached us. A child who draws this straight line is applauded and the child who doesn’t want to draw the line straight, but give some novelty is mocked at and immediately corrected. The straight line is a tribute to all those revered people we see in our everyday lives who tell us to conform without questioning, to believe without discovering and follow the well known paths to well known destinations. A sad tribute to their undying devotion and myopic vision to look beyond the walls of “orthodox” practices and “popular” methodologies . A tribute to their evil hands that smother creativity and change.

Any significant change in this world is not brought by the conformists but the non-conformists(those who persist on not drawing that line straight). Straight lines today are certain people, institutions, religious heads, organizations and political leaders, who are adamant and still insist on drawing the line straight.

Hello World.

I am Rahul Kaul.

My thoughts as reflected in the tranquil waters of the world around me.

"By three methods we may learn wisdom: First, by reflection, which is noblest; Second, by imitation, which is easiest; and third by experience, which is the bitterest."
Confucius

GoodBye.
